Keith Camp, at the age of 81, has won the Past Captain's Trophy - for the third time. Keith, who has been a member of the club for 45 years and was Club Captain in 1980 and now plays off a handicap of 23, scored 39 points to beat 1999 Captain Mel Glover, by five points.
Keith, a regular with the club Senior's team, had previously won the same trophy in 2008 and 2013.
In the Douglas Faulkner Family Foursomes competition Pattie and Steve Marriott comfortably beat the rest of the field after scoring a nett 63.5. In second place were Dave and Oli Banwell with a nett 68 just ahead of Jane and Andy Tizzard who scored a nett 68.5.
Last Wednesday saw the Club's Pro-Am take place in some beautiful weather and all who played in the event complimented the condition of the course and had a great day at the Club. Golf professional Murry White and his partners won the Team event on countback from Professional Steve Cipa and his team which included two of our own members, Steve Molyneaux and Dave Hanley, after both teams scored 15 under par. The individual Professional prize was won by Brett Taylor with a score of -4, closely followed by Danny Poulter -3 and David Salisbury -2.
Club seniors Mike Bluett, Mike Turnock and Harry Adam won the Buckingham invitation….. while Seniors skipper Robbie John led his squad to a 6-1 victory against The Bedfordshire. Robbie and Dave Roberts, Denis Leitch and George Darbyshire, Graham Robinson and David Debell, Terry Lingham and Keith Camp, Fred Ritchie and Kelvin Young and John Bettle and Danny Nairne returned winning cards, with Terry Wright and Fintan Donohue halving their match.
But only Richard Lancaster and Danny Nairne could return a win as the Seniors lost 4-1 against Luton Hoo, Dave Kingham and David Debell halving their match, followed by a 6-1 reverse against Chiltern Forest where only Dave Kingham and Kelvin Young won their match, with Graham Avery and Dave Roberts halving.
The Club team fared better against Stowe despite skipper Adrian Stephenson and Mark Vincent suffering an early reverse. Wins by Paul Ellam and Steve Giles, Shane Bentley and Keith Edmunds, John Allinson and David Evans and John Latimer and vice captain John Smith earned the club a 4-1 win.
